Thousand Islands Biological Station - Governor's Island

Do you have what it takes to be an Ichthyologist?

Join TILT and Dr. John Farrell and the crew at the Thousand Islands Biological Station (TIBS) during the 9th annual "Ichthyologist for a Day" KidsTrek and learn what it takes to be a fish scientist!

Enjoy a boat ride and morning on Governor's Island while meeting some new aquatic friends that live in the St. Lawrence River!  Learn all about the native fish that call the Thousand Islands home and why they're important to the health of the River and its creeks, streams, and wetlands. Discover how scientists at TIBS and partner organizations monitor local fish populations and water quality, and what we're doing to make sure that we are living in harmony with our finned friends.

You may even get to see a muskie!

Spaces are limited for this trek and advanced registration is required.

Register by emailing [email protected], calling the TILT office at 315-686-5345, or by signing up below.

As of June 22, 2023 this trek is on a WAITLIST Sign Up only.
