Josh Truman Joins Board of Trustees

The Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) is excited to announce the addition of Josh Truman to TILT’s Board of Trustees. Josh brings to the Board over 14 years of experience in fundraising and development and currently serves as the Regional Advancement Director for Colgate University, where he is responsible for engaging a portfolio of Alumni and Parents in eight regions of the United States.

Prior to his current role, Josh served as the Director of Development of the United States Golf Association, where he oversaw the implementation of their planned giving program and stewarded donors and trustees to their newly created Foundation.  He also served as the Director of Development, and then as the Executive Director of the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown.  Here, Josh led a foundation that oversaw the philanthropic development of the entire Bassett Healthcare Network, consisting of six subsidiary hospitals. Before that, he served as the Major Gift Officer for Hartwick College in Oneonta, where he maintained relationships with over 100 alumni and oversaw a major gifts budget and event coordination.

Josh has lifelong ties to the River, and has a family cottage on Carleton where he spends his summer and autumn seasons.  From a very early age, Josh had vivid memories of arriving at the River with his family each summer.  His Dad had spent his childhood at the River and Josh has followed in his footsteps.  As it is for many, the River is not just a destination for Josh but a place to recharge and to be inspired.  Along with his Labrador retriever, one of Josh’s favorite passions is putting out decoys each duck season.  Josh also enjoys fishing, photography, kayaking, and sailing on the River.

“I am thrilled and honored to be joining the Thousand Islands Land Trust Board.  It is inspiring to see the positive impact that TILT is having on the Thousand Islands region,” explained Josh.  “I am excited to be a part of an organization that promotes the ability for anyone to protect, conserve, and enjoy the River.“

"Josh is a terrific addition to our Board,” stated Greg McLean, TILT’s President.  “His expertise and love of the River lends itself very well to furthering TILT's conservation mission.  We very much look forward to working with Josh."
