Along with the Land Trust Alliance and the thousands of land trust staff, trustees, volunteers and community members across our country, the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) stands against racism and oppression of any kind, and unequivocally condemns acts of bigotry, bias and violence against people of color.
We strive for both environmental and social justice within our community of supporters and peers. As an organization dedicated to protecting biological diversity, we know that from great diversity comes great beauty and strength.
TILT’s board and staff realize that we all have a shared responsibility to serve rural, suburban, and urban communities alike, including people from all socioeconomic backgrounds and racial identities. Our work together to protect land is deeply rooted in the belief that everyone should have access to the land for health, happiness, recreation, and basic human rights like clean water and healthy food. The physical, mental, and spiritual health that nature provides must be easily available to all of our communities.
As a member of the Land Trust Alliance, the Thousand Islands Land Trust is committed to working with other land trusts across the country to build a land conservation community that understands, values, and embraces diversity.
