Education Program Fully Funded

Spring 2017 Newsletter - An integral part of TILT’s mission is education. Through our TILTreks & Talks, and KidsTreks programs, we provide opportunities for people to “get out on the land” and learn about wildlife, natural history and conservation in the 1000 Islands.

Now, thanks to a wonderful partnership between the Ferguson Foundation, the Fresh Sound Foundation, Ken Deedy, and Lee & Debby Hirschey, we have raised $50,000 for TILT’s KidsTreks Program.

These funds have been matched by the Northern New York Community Foundation (NNYCF) to fully endow the TILTreks & Talks Education Fund at $100,000. The fund will be housed at the NNYCF, where donors may make direct contributions to benefit TILT’s educational programs.

“We are so grateful for this visionary partnership between foundations, individuals and the community to ensure that youngsters and their families have the opportunity to learn about and respect our region’s ecology,” said Jake Tibbles, TILT’s Executive Director.

TILTreks & Talks are offered year-round, with most occurring in the summer. KidsTreks are scheduled in July and August.
