What's New at TILT's Crooked Creek Preserve & Macsherry Trail

Each year TILT strives to incorporate trail improvements across its 10 Signature Preserves. Improvements range from new trail signage and interpretive panels to observation towers and footbridges. All improvements to TILT's Preserves and Trails are intended to showcase unique and natural features while providing safe and adequate access for our local communities.

This summer, stewardship staff carried out several improvement projects on TILT's Crooked Creek Preserve and Macsherry Trail. Improvements included the replacement of a 110-ft elevated footbridge which spans one of the preserve's larger vernal pools. In addition, staff expanded a walking platform that parallels the 12-acre  active beaver pond. Lastly, we installed two new preserve entrance signs that direct visitors down Indian Point Road to the parking lot and trailhead.

This year's improvements were supported by the generosity of Molly MacWade and Stewart Macsherry.
