Breaking News: Blind Bay Update!

Thanks to Senator Chuck Schumer's relentless advocacy, U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) has agreed to hold a public in-person hearing on the proposed sites for the new Border Patrol station in the North Country region. Senator Schumer personally wrote CBP Acting Commissioner Miller, urging transparency and community involvement in the decision-making process.

The Board and Staff of the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT), alongside our coalition partners at Save The River and the multitude of supporters who’ve rallied behind our cause, express our deep appreciation to Senator Schumer for his steadfast insistence on in-person public hearings by CBP. This ensures that every voice within our River community is given the opportunity to be heard.

Senator Schumer’s efforts have also ensured an extended public comment period of 45 days, allowing residents and stakeholders the opportunity to voice their opinions.
