Farewells- Scott Kempton

To Scott Kempton, the St. Lawrence River was a place of rejuvenation and adventure alike, a place to gather with family and friends, simply put it was home. Scott was a true believer in the Land Trust’s mission and never missed an opportunity to support our conservation projects and community events.

His zest for life and adventurous spirit was contagious and only matched by his love of the Thousand Islands. Scott was a source of support and laughter, someone that you could count on in times of need. As a husband, he was a pillar of strength and personified the true meaning of a lifelong partner. As a father, Scott was a role model and mentor who provided boundless love and wisdom, passing on his deep connection to the River. And as an outdoorsman, his value of nature only increased. He understood that with the privilege of hunting along the St. Lawrence River came with a responsibility to ensure its long-term health and vitality.

As a member of the organization for over 14 years, it was without question that conserving the Thousand Islands held a special place in his heart. Scott's kindness, resilience and unconditional love for the River, friends and his family will not be forgotten.
