Organizational Update - Thank You for your Service, John Cardamone

  • John Cardamone in his family boat, ‘Ol Boy on the St. Lawrence River.

This past fall, John Cardamone retired from the TILT board
after 17 years of service. John played key roles in many of TILT’s
endeavors and leaves behind a lasting legacy. He was a long-term
member on the Easement & Property Acquisition Committee,
Development Committee and served as chair of the Nominating
Committee. It was through his role on Nominating, that John
led the establishment of the strong and diverse Board of Trustees
that has helped TILT achieve many successes. This impact will
continue to ripple through time pushing the organization forward
to reach its conservation goals.

His contribution as a TILT Trustee went beyond building its
strong foundation. John and Sally graciously opened their home
for TILT events many times. John was an integral part of the
Building Committee that led the office renovation, offering his
expertise in this intricate industry. Most recently, he has also been a
strong supporter of our Blind Bay Legal Defense Fund.

John will be missed on the Board but with his deep family roots
here at the River, we know we will see him often. On behalf of the
TILT Board of Trustees and Staff, we extend our deepest gratitude
to John for his service and his positive impact on the Thousand
Islands, for generations to come.
John Cardamone
