New Summer Land Steward Fund Created

Spring 2017 Newsletter - In early April, we received a call from Bud Ames who told us that he and his wife, Diane, wanted to establish the Ames Family Stewardship Fund, which would perpetually support the hiring of a college student in a Summer Land Steward position.

A former President of the TILT Board of Trustees, Bud has a special appreciation for the stewardship of our preserves. Bud and Diane’s daughter Johanna worked as Summer Land Steward before the program was officially established, and helped expand it into the program it is today.

College students, working from late May to mid-August or September, help steward TILT’s preserves, trimming trails, mowing, building bridges, installing signs, and more. They are also essential to the success of our events and TILTreks programming.

“The Ames Family has made such a wonderful, sustaining gift to our Mission Support Campaign,” said Art Mack, TILT’s Board President. “They truly are Conserving the Place They (and we) Love!”

The Ames Family Stewardship Fund will ensure that a college student will have the internship experience of a lifetime and TILT will have the stewardship support it needs to conserve the place we love!

Thank you Bud and Diane!
