Common Tern Nesting Grid Removal

Tuesday, August 24, 2021 - 8:30am to 2:00pm

Eagle Wing Shoals & Tidd Island

TILT and conservation partner, Save The River, need volunteers to help dismantle the nesting grid on Eagle Wing Shoals and Tidd Island. Each spring, gull exclusion grids are erected over choice nesting areas to provide protection and safe nesting spaces for this species. By late summer, Common Tern chicks have fledged and the grids must be removed for winter.

Please meet at the TILT office at 8:30 am. Work gloves are recommened and lunch will be provided. This event is weather dependent - we will call registered participants to confirm the date.

Please register to volunteer by emailing [email protected], by calling the TILT office at 315-686-5345, or by signing up here.
