Please join us in celebrating Ken Deedy, a friend, mentor and life-time supporter of environmental stewardship and education in the Thousand Islands. On Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:30 - 7:30pm at the Wellesley Island State Park Pavilion on Wellesley Island we will come together to celebrate Ken and the permanent endowment fund created in his name.
Through his vision TILT, Save The River and Friends of the Nature Center have established The Kenneth Deedy Environmental Internship Fund through the Northern New York Community Foundation. As a true endowment, this fund will be used to hire a high school/college student for a summer long internship. Each year, the selected student will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work for all three organizations, immersing him/her into the fields of land conservation and stewardship, environmental education, and environmental advocacy.
Before his passing, Ken made the initial gift to establish the Environmental Internship Fund, continuing to build upon his legacy as a life-long environmentalist, who passionately supported the conservation of natural resources and the education of our next generation of stewards. So please join us in celebrating this wonderful legacy from a man who embodied the notion of “pay it forward”. In lieu of tickets, we hope you will consider making a donation of any size toward this meaningful Internship Fund. Your contribution will make a tremendous difference.
