Treks

TILTreks, KidsTreks and TILTKids Day Camp are free and open to the public. These exciting programs get you out on the land to experience the natural world in the Thousand Islands.

TILTreks

These include birding, hiking, kayaking, history outings, as well as Stewardship Days and other volunteer events.

KidsTreks

Featuring great kid-oriented activities like “Ichthyologist for a Day” when we visit Thousand Islands Biological Station on Governor’s Island and learn what it is like to be a real scientist.

TILTKids Day Camp

A special themed program with several activities aimed at exploring the theme more completely. Camps have included Invasive Inspectors, Let’s Migrate, and Nature Rocks!

Zenda Community Garden

Looking for fresh vegetables and a space to garden? Join the Zenda Community Garden! We provide the land, you help plant, tend, and harvest.

The Zenda Community Garden provides space for local community members  to grow fresh, locally produced fruits and vegetables.

Applications for garden space are accepted in early spring every year along with a $35/family fee. Call the TILT Office today for current availability at (315) 686-5345.

Hunting Permits

Conservation and hunting are vital for maintaining healthy ecosystems and balanced wildlife populations. TILT ensures both by carefully managing its lands, allowing sustainable hunting that supports wildlife management, while also preserving critical habitats through its conservation efforts, ensuring these natural spaces thrive for future generations.

Public access for deer hunting is allowed on select TILT Preserves through our permit program. We do not issue public hunting permits for turkey hunting, waterfowl hunting, or trapping. Currently, TILT allows deer hunting on both Crooked Creek and Grindstone Island Preserves. Applications can be filled out by clicking the links below:
